Choice Based Lettings
Loreburn Housing Association utilises a Choice Based Lettings system to allocate properties in order to allow our customers to have more choice over where they call home.
Available properties will be advertised on a Tuesday and Thursday at 12 noon on the Loreburn Lettings website. Customers can bid for the properties that best suit their needs and circumstances. Bidding for properties advertised on a Tuesday will close on a Friday at 12 noon, bidding for properties advertised on a Thursday will close on a Monday at 12 noon. There may be restrictions on who can apply for a property and any conditions or restrictions will be clearly advertised
How to Register
To register, you will need to submit a simple form online which can take approximately 20 minutes to complete. If you need help to complete the form please Contact Us and we will arrange for someone to support you.
Before you start you will need:
- A current email address
- National Insurance Number for each member of the household over the age of 16
- Address / Tenancy history for the previous 5 years for all members of the household
You will also be required to provide supporting evidence for your application depending on your circumstances.
This may include:
- Proof of identity for all members of the household
- Proof of household income
Evidence can be uploaded as a document or photograph, or handed into one of our offices.
If you do not, or cannot, complete your registration form then you can save your progress and return at a later time.
Please note that any information will only be retained for a period of 10 days, after which it will be deleted and a new form will need to be filled out. Only once you have successfully completed a registration form will you be able to bid on properties.
Banding and Bidding
Once you have successfully registered, you will be issued with a unique User ID and Password, which you will require to access your account and place bids. Based on your circumstances, you will be placed in one of four Bands – Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze – with priority being given to those people who are in greatest housing need.
A bid is an expression of interest in a property, and customers can make up to 3 bids at any one time. Please ensure that you read the adverts carefully and only bid for properties that you would truly consider accepting. Once bidding closes, the bids will be shortlisted to identify the customers in most housing need.
We aim to contact successful applicants within 5 days.
You will be responsible for updating any changes to your details. If it is discovered that you have provided false information in order to obtain an offer of tenancy, any offer would be revoked.
If you have forgotten your User ID or Password, please follow this link or Contact Us.
A viewing will only be available to applicants who have been shortlisted, and only at a specified appointment time accompanied by a member of Loreburn Housing staff.
Please do not contact any of the occupants in the properties advertised.
If you have any questions or queries, please Contact Us or see our FAQs.
As the demand for housing far exceeds the supply, we cannot house every applicant who bids for a property.
Please remember to update any changes in your circumstances to ensure that you are in the correct Banding.
